Mixed Teams for U10+

Triwest does not have a policy restricting the creation of mixed teams. There is always a possibility that a given team may have both boys and girls on it; this is dependent on registration numbers, evaluation results, and the regulations of the league that a team participates in.

Our Goals

• To develop players and continually improve the rate of development
• To recruit and develop coaches within a positive and supportive environment
• To meet the expectation of parents that their kids are in a great place to learn
• To create "optionality" so that kids who are more committed can have an avenue to develop to their potential
• To keep it fun, because if you take the fun out of soccer, there is no soccer!  It’s for the kids!

We recognize that most coaches do not have an extensive (or often any) soccer background, so we will train them, and support them with expert resources – so that they are in a position to succeed, and have a positive experience.  All we require of our coaches is an ability to relate to kids, and good sportsmanship and integrity.

General Concepts

The Triwest Soccer Association works in close association with the Premier Academy of Soccer Skills (PASS) Ltd.  We have contracted PASS to provide services to Triwest at every age level to:
     •  Coach our coaches in a session at the start of the year
     •  Run technical session for players (in which the coaches participate and learn) throughout the season
     •  Observe practices and games and be a source of friendly advice to coaches (tactics, drills, approach to managing practices etc)
     •  Be available to consult at the coaches request
     •  For the age-levels U10 and up, PASS, as a neutral third party will conduct player evaluations to assist the Association in team selections
